Well Megan has been gone for 2 1/2 days now, and I have been watching the boys. I figure as I have been doing everything else in her place I might as well fill in for her and post something as well. Any of you dads out there that have ever spent a few days alone with your kids know that I am about to go crazy. I wish we had some family nearby so I could enlist their help, but instead I will just have to hope that I will be able to restore the house to a normal(clean and orderly) state by the time Megan comes home and that I will be able to regain my sanity once she is back.
Now, don't get me wrong the boys have been great (at least a portion of this is due to their ability to adjust to my lower levels of patience than they are used to with Megan). We have had a lot of fun and as soon as Luke wakes up from his nap we are going to go to the splash park. I think it has just been a good reminder of how hard it is to stay home with kids and not be able to go to work etc for a break.
I am amazed that Megan has made the decision to be a stay at home mom and find it near unbelievable that she has stuck with that decision through 3 boys. I know that she feels strongly about wanting to be at home for the kids, and I am grateful that she is strong enough to keep with it. I am sure it is great for the kids. Hopefully when Jimmy starts school next year it will start to be a little easier for her, wishful thinking I know, as it will probably only get worse when I go back to school. Either way I am glad she can find enough time to keep the house in order, teach and entertain our children, take care of everything else I ask of her and still have enough time to be a great wife. I guess I will have to be more lenient and forgiving when she is on edge after a long day with the boys.
