Fun Rainy Day Projects

Well we are up and blogging again - FINALLY!! We ran into a few problems with our computer when our hard drive completely crashed during a thunderstorm a couple weeks ago. We had to take it in to get repaired but luckily they were able to recover most of the data and save the hard drive.

We have had a lot of rainy days lately so the kids have been going a little stir crazy. So one day when it was raining I knew I needed to do something to channel the energy so we made silly slime, aka goop. It is really easy to make. All you need is water, elmers glue, food coloring and a little bit of borax. For the recipe click here. The boys seriously played with the stuff for about an hour and a half. And the best part is you can store it in the fridge for the next rainy day. It actually stays good for quite a while.

Later that day Jimmy was once again, bored out of his mind so he decided that he wanted to make a cage for his stuffed teddy bear. So we found a box in the garage to paint and decorate. Then we made the door with yarn to look like the bars. It was fun. I was just proud of myself for not sticking them in front of the TV all day.

Megan,
What fun projects! We can do projects like this when I come out to visit too! I am the project queen (I think I got it from my mom).

The blog looks great too :)

Love your new blog, I was wondering why you weren't updating your blog. The projects look fun, what a cute teddy bear box. Tell Jimmy great job.

I want to make goop. What is Borax?

Borax is a laundry booster so you can find it in the laundry section of the store. I bought mine at Walmart.
