Luke's first day of nursery!

Luke had his first official day of nursery today - well kind of official. He is really going to be 18 months tomorrow but it's close enough. I have a calling as a primary teacher so I haven't had to deal with Luke for the past couple months. But I know that Jim is celebrating because he was getting pretty annoyed with having to chase Luke around the church for the last 2 hours. Except I think he might be a little bit sad because now he can't use Luke as an excuse to leave priesthood. Oops, did I say that out loud. Unfortunately after about an hour of being in nursery they had to come and get us because they thought that he had leaked through his diaper. But he actually just sat in water while the kids were playing outside. So Jim had to take him home to get a change of pants. Next week we are going to come prepared with an extra set of clothes.

dodasgirl: playing outside? if we played outside yesterday at church, we'd end up under about 3 inches of snow with frostbite on all exposed skin!

Cameron, Shannon Voge: haha, I was thinking the same thing as Sarah... outside!? If we played outside, we'd be frost bitten as well! Luckily there's no snow though. How exciting that Luke is in nursery!!! I can't believe how big he is! It feels like a couple months ago when we came to see you and him at the hospital... time flies by too fast! Hope you are doing good. We think about you guys a lot, and I keep meaning to call, I just can't get away from kids long enough to pick up the phone... you know how that goes!; February 25, 2009 at 7:40 PM

Funny Things Kids Say

We were at church and during the sacrament I was talking to Luke about Jesus. I told him that Jesus bled and died for us. Luke looked at me with a very concerned look and said, "Did Heavenly Father give Jesus a band-aid when he was bleeding?"

We were about to walk out the door so I told Luke to go potty. He came out of the bathroom saying, "I can't go! The batteries in my pee pee are dead!"

After Ben finished a big meal he said, "my tummy is so big and full I look like Grandpa now!" (sorry dad).

Ben pointed to a picture of the prophet and said, "That's President Monckley!"

We have a saying in our house. It's "you get what you get and you don't throw a fit!" But Ben has his own version of this. He says "you get what you WANT and you don't throw a fit!"

Jimmy said that he is allergic to babies. I asked him how he knew and he said that he gets sick when he smells them.

Ben asked me for another piece of halloween candy and I said, "Mommy is ready for the halloween candy to be gone" and Ben said, "Yea, gone in my mouth!"

We were driving past the gas station sign and Ben said, "I see a lowercase 5 on that sign."

I was talking to Jimmy about election day and asking him if his teacher voted and he said that she was "absent" that day. (I finally realized what he meant. She had just mailed in an absentee ballot.)

Ben put a whole bunch of toilet paper in the garbage and I told him that is a no, no. He said, "no it's a yes, yes!"

I tell Jimmy on a regular basis that needs to talk nicely. He yelled something across the room to me and I gave him the look that said I didn't like the tone of his voice and he said, "I was yelling nicely!"

Jimmy and I are listening to "Give Said the Little Stream" and Jimmy says "How does it talk?" I said "How does what talk?" He said, "The stream, it doesn't have a mouth, how can it talk?"
