My little boy is growing up!

After 4 1/2 months of begging me to go to preschool Ben is finally there! I felt so bad after we moved here because I wasn't able to enroll Ben in preschool but I finally found some friends with kids close to his age and we just decided to do our own. The mom's take turns teaching 2 days out of the month. He goes 2 days a week for 2 hours and it is sooooo nice! (For him, of course.) He was so cute because he just wanted to go to school so badly. When we would walk Jimmy to school in the morning he would take his back pack along and act like the big boys. Sometimes when Jimmy's class lines up to go inside he will just get right in line with them like he belongs there. Actually, he looks almost big enough for kindergarten. He just needs a little catching up in the maturity category.

So right now Jimmy is at school, Ben is at school, and Luke is napping peacefully and it's just me, myself, and I right now and boy does it feel good. Every mom needs a little "me" time to stay sane. There is only so much screaming, whining, demanding, messes, mischief, fighting, and poopy diapers that one can take. Gosh, when I say that it sounds like I have the kids from you know where. It really isn't THAT bad. They are good kids. It just helps to have a little peace and quiet so I can remember the good things that they do. Sometimes it's just hard to think of those things in the midst of the chaos. So right now, I'm just going to sit back, relax, and enjoy the next 40 minutes until I have to go pick up Ben and hopefully my batteries will be recharged enough to make the most of the rest of the day!

Amber: I wish I was that excited to go to school everyday! I need to remember how much kids love to go to school and maybe it would make it easier for the teacher. I am glad that it worked out for Ben to go to preschool (so he gets school, but mostly so that you get a much deserved break).

Cameron, Shannon Voge: Enjoy your 40 minutes of peace and quiet... you deserve it!! We haven't talked in so long, it's my fault, sorry! I'm so busy with doc appt.s with Sydnee and Physical Therapy with her, etc. Poor Hallie gets drug to all those things with us, so I started doing preschool with her lately. We learn one new letter a week, and she loves the time with just me and her. Next fall some of us moms in the ward already have a preschool planned for Hallie's age group, so she is so excited for that, I can only imagine how excited Ben is to be going now too! Funny Things Kids Say

We were at church and during the sacrament I was talking to Luke about Jesus. I told him that Jesus bled and died for us. Luke looked at me with a very concerned look and said, "Did Heavenly Father give Jesus a band-aid when he was bleeding?"

We were about to walk out the door so I told Luke to go potty. He came out of the bathroom saying, "I can't go! The batteries in my pee pee are dead!"

After Ben finished a big meal he said, "my tummy is so big and full I look like Grandpa now!" (sorry dad).

Ben pointed to a picture of the prophet and said, "That's President Monckley!"

We have a saying in our house. It's "you get what you get and you don't throw a fit!" But Ben has his own version of this. He says "you get what you WANT and you don't throw a fit!"

Jimmy said that he is allergic to babies. I asked him how he knew and he said that he gets sick when he smells them.

Ben asked me for another piece of halloween candy and I said, "Mommy is ready for the halloween candy to be gone" and Ben said, "Yea, gone in my mouth!"

We were driving past the gas station sign and Ben said, "I see a lowercase 5 on that sign."

I was talking to Jimmy about election day and asking him if his teacher voted and he said that she was "absent" that day. (I finally realized what he meant. She had just mailed in an absentee ballot.)

Ben put a whole bunch of toilet paper in the garbage and I told him that is a no, no. He said, "no it's a yes, yes!"

I tell Jimmy on a regular basis that needs to talk nicely. He yelled something across the room to me and I gave him the look that said I didn't like the tone of his voice and he said, "I was yelling nicely!"

Jimmy and I are listening to "Give Said the Little Stream" and Jimmy says "How does it talk?" I said "How does what talk?" He said, "The stream, it doesn't have a mouth, how can it talk?"
